American Savings Bank, Downtown Branch

This project is a total conversion of an existing ground-floor retail space into the new Downtown Honolulu branch of American Savings Bank (ASB), located in the American Savings Bank Tower. ASB’s core values - making banking easy, delivering high performance, creating a great workplace, and impacting the community - guided key design decisions.

Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, Phase 4, Below Grade Segment

This multi-use recreational trail is the remnant of the former Farmington Canal (1828-1848) and Railroad (1848-1985) which linked Northampton, MA to New Haven Harbor. DSA's design concept is to create an urban destination that connects the Yale campus and the Audubon Street Arts District. The underground segment between Temple Street and Whitney Avenue will feature DSA’s interpretive timeline display, which charts the history of the canal, railway, and greenway developments.

Academic Sciences Building

This project is an adaptive reuse, comprehensive renovation of the building commonly known as 1042 Fort Street, an existing three-story concrete, masonry and steel building located in Downtown Honolulu’s Financial District.

World Language Center

The World Language Center (WLC) is a new 21st Century School facility designed to enhance the existing campus’ functionality and set a new standard for the Hawai’i State Department of Education’s (DOE) school construction projects.

Pearl City Public Library Improvement, Renovation, and Expansion

This project is a comprehensive renovation of the existing Pearl City Regional Public Library (b. 1969) and expansion of its grounds to meet the changing needs of its community and the world around it. In addition to the improvement of the library building, DSA designed a new campus around it which features an outdoor courtyard, covered walkway, two new buildings.

King Liberty Center

Liberty Bank, designed by Hawaii's top architect of the 20th century Vladamir Ossipoff, is a masterful blend of modernity and tradition at the corner of North King and Maunakea. Today, 99 N. King Street is the Honolulu headquarters of King Liberty LLC and the offices of Dean Sakamoto Architects/SHADE and received the Docomomo US 2024 Modernism in America Award for Citation of Merit.
