One Whitney Office
New Haven, Connecticut, 2006
Located at a main intersection of New Haven's financial district and Yale University’s Central Campus, DSA's office is urbanely positioned and designed for collaboration. DSA transformed this former second-floor law office by removing walls and making a few of them operable to create a free-flowing space which promotes communication and creativity. Working with existing skylight wells and large windows, the space is full of light, made of natural materials and feels integrated with the city and university.
Soon after its completion, ARTS! Magazine published a story on DSA's new space: "Guests are greeted with maple plywood walls, a rusted metal desk and a lucky native Hawaiian plant... Push aside the workshop walls and swing into the sunlit conference room."
